Nokia Locate Sensor showcases “Indoor Positioning” Video

Nokia has released a short video of one of their ongoing beta projects called “Indoor Positioning“.

According to Nokia, this is being tested on 40 building and “Indoor positioning is being developed using existing Wi-Fi technology and wireless RFID tags, triangulating your position within indoor buildings such as shopping centers. The precision of the set up promises to be incredible, pinning your position or that of any object or location you’ve set up down to a metre or two. So in theory if you’re looking for a particular shop, you could search for it on the directory on your phone and then use your device to point you in the direction and plot it on the map on your handset so you know where to go and precisely how far away it is.” Video here
