The LG Globus is a basic flip phone that’s available through Rogers for $29.99 on a 3-year contract. Other price plans are on a 1-year for $129.99 or outright for $179.99.
With the price out of the way, the Globus has an OK 1.3 megapixel camera, the good news is that it can take videos which you can control the output quality (normal fine or superfine). Also, with the MicroSD card you can put in another 4 GB of memory. This also has a decent set of speakers on it. Nothing mind blowing but for the price you will be pleasantly happy.
We took a peek into the internet and connects fast with its 3G connectivity. As this is a World Phone you’ll be able to use this wherever you go. I was pleased with the actual feel of the device, only coming in at 110 grams with 2 screens: external screen is just shy of 1 inch; internal screen is 2 inches (176 x 220 pixel). In our review we viewed an episode of “The Hills” just to see how this would show up and was good for the screen size and resolution.
Besides the ease of use of the Globus, I actually liked how big the keypad is. We usually see phones getting smaller and making the keys frustrating to use while e-mail or texting. The actual design is nothing new and a bit of a throwback to early 2000, but for a basic entry phone this is one to consider.
