The Samsung OMNIA is a cool device, only weighing in at 125 grams with overall dimensions of 112 x 56.9 x 12.5mm. This can do all your mutimedia needs such as pictures/videos with it’s 5 megapixel camera (auto focus, and flash). The Omnia has Samsung’s “Sharepix” that allows you to instantly upload picts to sites such as Facebook, MySpace and Flickr. In addition, the screen is perfect for watching videos, TV or even taking your own vids. Overall it has a 3.2 inch touchscreen (240 x 400 pixels) with an accelerometer that makes it easier to view.
The key component that makes this one to consider are the widgets. These are located on the left hand side of the device and are basically applications that you can drag and drop on the desktop of your phone. For any quick access to the FM radio, Stock, Weather forecast, Internet (Full HTML Browser) etc… these make the device more fun to use and gets you to the programs you love to use faster.
Other key features is that it comes with Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional for all your e-mail needs. In addition, this has a full QWERTY keyboard (touchscreen) plus handwriting recognition and Opera Mobile so it renders web sites as if you would see them on your computer. GPS and the business card reader is a good addition, with this you can simply point the camera over the card and it automatically imports the information into your contact list. Regarding memory: comes with 8GB of internal memory with a staggering capability of holding up to 24GB.
