A couple weeks ago the joint venture between Rogers, Bell and TELUS launched a BlackBerry App making it easy for people to basically use your mobile phone as a bank. With Zoompass you can send, receive and request money, check account balance, review transactions all by using your mobile phone.
Good news for those with an iPhone (Rogers and Fido customers only) as a free app has now been launched in the AppStore. Just remember the app and registering is free, but there is a service charge for your transactions. The fees are as follows: receive money and add funds from a bank account is free. There will be a $0.50 charge send money and withdraw finds to a bank account and $10 will be charged for any insufficient funds.
Robin Dua, President of EnStream said “Enabling Zoompass on a widely-available device like the iPhone is an important part of our strategy to empower consumers to perform payment transactions on any mobile device through an intuitive interface. Zoompass is revolutionizing the way Canadians transact. We are merging the wallet with the mobile phone and will eventually allow people to leave their wallets at home. We’re taking convenience and control to a new level by providing customers with the ability to transact with their money from anywhere, anytime.”
