Bell BlackBerry Storm2 9550 launching April 13th

We let you know a few days ago that Bell discontinued the BlackBerry Storm 9530 from their lineup… and we’ve now been informed the launch date for the second generation Storm is set for Tuesday, April 13th. We’ll probably see a launch promo price as TELUS is selling this for $199.99, but the early price points have been set for the following:

$349.95 on 3-year contract
$399.95 on 2-year contract
$499.95 on 1-year contract
$549.95 no contract

The Bell Storm2 9550 is a CDMA device and will come with a 3.25-inch display (resolution of 480 X 360), Wifi, OS 5.0, 3.2 megapixel camera, 3.5mm headset jack, Speakerphone, RIM’s SurePress technology, virtual QWERTY keyboard, 2 GB Internal/256 MB Flash and will come with a 16GB microSD card, full HTML browser, GPS (BlackBerry Maps etc). In the doc we received Bell describes the “The BlackBerry Storm2 9550 smartphone is for people who want to own the newest technology, while maintaining the ease of communication and connectivity that people expect from BlackBerry. It is the ideal smartphone for media and Internet users who also value the personal and work productivity of BlackBerry.”

In addition, the doc said “As Bell’s HSPA network only supports 850/1900 MHz, this smartphone will not work on Bell’s HSPA network, as this smartphone only supports the 2100 MHz UMTS/HSPA band.”

We’ll have more info soon!
