Vidéotron launched their new 3G+ network yesterday. In the press release and also during the live webcast they stated they have “Something for everyone: 12 handsets, including 4 firsts“. Indeed they came out with some great Canadian firsts such as Android 2.2 on the Nexus One and the Garmin Nuvifone A5, plus the Motorola XT720 (also heading to WIND).
However, on their website they only list 9 devices plus a mobile internet stick (Huawei E1381). The devices are the Huawei U3200, Samsung Gravity 2, Huawei U7519, Nokia 5230, BlackBerry Pearl 9100, BlackBerry Bold 9700, Google Nexus One, Garmin Nuvifone A5 and the Motorola XT720.
So the question still remains to find out what those mysterious missing devices are and why they’re not for sale as promised. We believe they have a great lineup… but aren’t you curious to know what the missing handsets are before you make your decision?
Update: Videotron sent us an e-mail to state what the other 3 handsets are. One of them is the Sony Ericsson TM506 which they “use this phone exclusively for the migration of our actual customers”, plus the other couple of devices are actually different colour options. The Nokia 5230 comes in white or black, and the Samsung Gravity 2 comes in blue or orange.
