The joint-venture between Rogers, Bell and TELUS called Zoompass allows you to send/receive money via your mobile phone (available on Apple iPhone, BlackBerry and Android). Today they announced they’ve partnered up with Western Union to expand out of Canada and offer their customers the option to send/receive money internationally.
There are no clear dates other than sometime this year or what the fees are involved… but in a press release Zoompass states “With the launch of the service later this year, Zoompass users in Canada will be able to send funds directly from their mobile wallets. Recipients will be able to pick up their funds in cash at more than 380,000 Western Union Agent locations in 200 countries and territories.”
