If you’re on Virgin Mobile you’ve probably heard of the company PushLife. They power the Virgin Mobile Live app that comes on their BlackBerry devices. No worries though if you’re not with Virgin because a free app will be released over the next few weeks to work on both Android and BlackBerry devices – so everyone will be able to experience music correctly.
Yesterday I had the opportunity to sit with Founder & CEO of PushLife Ray Reddy. He took me for a tour of their app on 3 different devices: Android, BlackBerry and a quick messaging device. What’s really cool about PushLife is that they give a new meaning to how music can be experienced on a device other than an iPhone. The interface is exactly the same experience an ALL 3 handsets. There is no favouring one platform to another… the music experience is fast and set up in a very intuitive manner. They’ve literally thought of everything from a user viewpoint, giving you the power to create and edit playlists right from device (also transfer music from your desktop), search for new music (by genre, artist, top 100 or new album), one-click song purchase (Virgin customers get it added to their monthly bill), view artist bios, photos and the app also has the ability to share music samples via Facebook and Twitter, rate songs, purchase ringtones, wallpapers… and syncs to your iTunes/Windows Media Player.
We’re not sure why all carriers or manufacturers haven’t pre-loaded this onto their devices yet. They should as it makes a great customer experience. This is worth downloading when the app goes live this month. Check out the video of the app in action after the break
