Google has updated their “Phone Gallery” to show the much leaked but now confirmed Nexus S. This is heading towards TMobile in the states (You’ll be able to unlock it here in Canada as it supports Quad-band GSM: 850, 900, 1800, 1900 Tri-band HSPA: 900, 2100, 1700 HSPA type: HSDPA (7.2Mbps) HSUPA (5.76Mbps).
Other specs of the newest Nexus comes with OS 2.3 (Gingerbread), a 1 GHz Hummingbird processor, 4-inch touchscreen with a resolution of 800 x 480, 512MB RAM, 16GB ROM, GPS, NFC (Near-field communications), 5 megapixel camera with Flash and HD video recording, Wifi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1, 1500 mAH battery and has overall dimensions are 63.0 x 123.9 mm x 10.88 mm and weighs in at 129 grams.
As for availability: “After December 16, Nexus S can be purchased (unlocked or with a T-Mobile service plan) online and in-store from all Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile stores in the U.S. and after December 20 at Carphone Warehouse and Best Buy retailers in the U.K.” No official word on Canada.
The official description by Google says the “Nexus S is the next generation of Nexus devices co-developed by Google and Samsung. The latest Android platform (Gingerbread) paired with 1 GHz Hummingbird processor and 16GB of memory makes Nexus S one of the fastest phones on the market.”
