Over 300,000: That’s the number of Android phones being activated every day. Google’s VP of Engineering, Andy Rubin, tweeted this astonishing number – this has grown since August when Google CEO Eric Schmidt stated the number was at 200,000. If you multiply that number in to a month it works out to over 9 million a month. This is clearly a global number and certainly correctly points the recent Gartner report pegging Android to become the become #2 worldwide mobile OS by the end of 2010.
