A few analysts have been giving the anticipated BlackBerry PlayBook a rough ride over the past few weeks. There has been a few that have stated the tablet would be delayed past the Q1 period, then another analyst complained of a short battery life. Both have been dismissed by RIM as false claims.
Overseas reports from DigiTimes today suggests that “Quanta Computer has begun volume production of RIM’s PlayBook tablets with shipments in the first quarter of 2011 expected to top one million units competing head-to-head with the 700,000-800,000 Xoom tablets to be rolled out by Motorola”. If these shipment numbers are correct then the stats show it will be the Apple iPad, Samsung Galaxy Tab, BlackBerry PlayBook then the Xoom.
