Looks like those pics that surfaced yesterday were real but now the devices with a dedicated Facebook button are called the HTC ChaCha and Salsa. These are both Android-powered devices that will run of OS 2.3.3 and have HTC Sense built-in. There is no word yet on a Canadian release date for these but it’s hitting Europe, Asia in Q2 2011 then the States via AT&T “later this year”.
According to the press release “The Facebook button on HTC ChaCha and HTC Salsa is context-aware, gently pulsing with light whenever there is an opportunity to share content or updates through Facebook. With a single press of the button, you can update your status, upload a photo, share a Website, post what song you are listening to, ‘check in’ to a location and more.”
As for specs, the ChaCha has a physical QWERTY keyboard, 2.6 inch display (resolution of 480 x 320), 5-megapixel color camera with auto focus and LED flash and a VGA front-facing camera, 600MHz Qualcomm MSM7227 processor and the Facebook Button. The Salsa generally has the same specs as the ChaCha but has a 3.4-inch touchscreen display with a 480 x 320 resolution.
