40% of Canadian companies will increase the use of tablets in the next two years

So many tablets will be released this year: Apple iPad 2, Motorola Xoom, HTC Flyer, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 (and 8.9), BlackBerry PlayBook and the HP TouchPad.

Rogers VP John Boynton stated that “we’ve seen strong tablet sales this year. Stronger than expected and we expected it to explode in the next 12 months. In fact, we expect tablets to lead our mobile internet category mix in 2011″. Then a recent report by IDC Canada states there will be “just shy of 1.5 million” tablets sold by the end of 2011″. With all this said tablets are making a massive impact this year and the adoption rate seems to be increasing.

A new survey has been released today that was commissioned by Robert Half Technology that shows 40% of Canadian companies will increase the use of tablets in the next two years. They surveyed over 270 CIOs who have over 100 employees on the phone and asked “To what extent, if any, do you think your company’s use of ‘tablet’ computers will increase or decrease in the next two years?”

Increase: 40%
Decrease: 6%
No change: 49%
Don’t know/not applicable/no answer: 5%

Heck, even parts of our Government are getting themselves iPads. Do you see a need for all these tablets?
