The first Android 3.0 Honeycomb tablet has officially landed on Canadian ground. The Motorola XOOM with Wi-Fi was up for pre-order at both Best Buy and Future Shop for $599.99. Taking a look at both of their sites now shows this tablet as “not available in store” and online orders are also “Out of stock: Will ship when available”… so good move on the lucky people who pre-ordered. You might be able to find some floating around various stores but we are also hearing that there was a total of 580 XOOMs for both retail operations for this April 6th availability date. TELUS is expected to have the tablet available soon too.
The Xoom has a 10.1-inch display, a dual-core 1 Ghz processor along with a 2 megapixel camera in the front and a 5 megapixel camera in the back that can take HD videos.
Update: Best Buy and Future Shop now state the Xoom is “In Stock” and “Usually ships next business day”.
