Bloomberg jumps on board with the rumours: “new iPhone in September”

Backing up rumours of Apple’s fifth-generation iPhone is Bloomberg stating that “two people familiar with the plans” say it’ll be announced in September. The report also notes that the new iPhone “will closely resemble the iPhone 4” and will have an A5 processor, run iOS 5 and an 8 megapixel camera, up from the 5 megapixel camera it has now. This has all been generally stated over the past several months.

“Apple Inc. plans to introduce a new iPhone in September that boasts a stronger chip for processing data and a more advanced camera, according to two people familiar with the plans. The device will include the A5 processor, the more powerful chip that Apple added to the iPad 2 earlier this year, along with an 8-megapixel camera, up from the 5-megapixel model in the iPhone 4, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the details aren’t public.”

Bloomberg also brought back the rumours of Apple making a smaller, “cheaper version” of the iPhone that’s specifically for developing countries. The specs are apparently similar to what we now see in the iPhone 4. This brings back memories of when Apple’s Tim Cook stated the iPhone is not “just for the rich,” but “for everyone”.

Finally, Bloomberg is reporting the next iPad will have a more responsive touchscreen that will be higher res by a third, compared to the iPad 2.
