Yesterday was the Mobilicity “National Break Your Wireless Contract Day” and apparently it was a big success. This was a one-day event where people had the chance to get a $200 bill credit for porting their number over, it’s usually $100 so it was a good offer. There’s no official number of subscribers Mobilicity has but it’s now “thousands” more than they had on Friday.
Mobilicity CEO Dave Dobbin sent various tweet yesterday that stated “Holy moly! Line-ups at stores”, “I guess people hate contracts!”… and “Thanks to the thousands of the new customers who joined us today. We’re glad you’ve decided to make the switch!”.
Wonder how many “thousands” ported over and who they switched from.
