Rumours are great in tech, the truth is better though. The next generation of Google’s Nexus is rumoured to be made by none other than Samsung, makers of the incredibly popular Nexus S. The “pure Google” device is expected to launch in October with the new Ice Cream Sandwich Android OS, a 4.5-inch Super AMOLED HD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 and packs a powerful 1.5GHz dual core processor. Impressive specs to say the least.
Apparently the most recent rumour is that Samsung representatives were showing off the new Nexus at Verizon HQ and somebody somehow got hold of the firmware and attempted to leak it online. Samsung lawyers sent a cease and desist letter requesting the individual refrain from doing so, and in turn acknowledging they’ll eventually release the Nexus Prime.
“It has come to our attention that you are wrongfully in possession of, and intend to release or otherwise publicly disclose without Samsung’s consent, firmware for the Nexus Prime. By this letter Samsung orders you to immediately cease, desist, and refrain, from any and all such activities.”
October is only 5 weeks away.
