“Canada’s Top Employers for Young People” report has been released. In total there are 100 organizations that made the cut this year, only 3 from a wireless perspective: RIM, Rogers and TELUS. The list was compiled by interviewing the companies on such topics as their ability to attract people, tuition assistance, training, benefits and mentorship. The reasons why Rogers was chosen was because employees get in-house and online training, career planning and weekly professional development lectures. Meanwhile, TELUS employees have the luxury of dressing casually, leadership training and onsite fitness. Even though they’re going through a rough time and laying off workers, RIM was chosen because all employees receive a free Berry, plus they “enjoy a relaxing work environment with a casual dress code, subsidized onsite massage services, and “ice cream Fridays”.
