There isn’t a soul on Earth who would argue that the stock launcher in Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich is not a significant improvement over its Gingerbread predecessor. But that didn’t stop Google from hiding a secondary, and far less functional, Rocket Launcher inside the operating system.
To get to it a bit convoluted — it involves actually installing a third-party launcher, LauncherPro, and adding an Activity Widget to the homescreen, and from there selecting Rocket Launcher under the Launcher tab. If that’s confusing just follow the instructions in the included video.
While it isn’t very useful, it’s certainly a new and interesting way to launch your applications. In some ways it’s less a launcher and more a separate app, but that’s just nitpicking. In reality, it is just plain awesome.
