Multi-platform iTunes competitor 7Digital has been expanding rapidly. Not only does it offer 17 million music tracks but it claims 3 million customers who have purchased music on one of its four platforms.
The service, which is available on Android, BlackBerry OS, Playbook and, through the web, on iOS, is expanding to Windows Phone early next year. The Metro-styled app will give Windows Phone users the chance to pay for and download 320kbps streams and in most cases FLAC recordings of the most popular music.
7Digital also offers a locker service that makes previously-purchased music available at any time, and can be downloaded three times once purchased. The WP7 app will have 90-second downloads on most tracks, and full Mango support.
