Mobilicity users can now use SMS short codes for services like transit GPS locations. Previously, sending a text message to the TTC’s “898882” SMS hotline with the five-digit number of a streetcar stop resulted in disappointment for Mobilicity users, but the service seems to be working now. According to Mobilicity users the short codes are working on Vancouver’s Metro system, too, so it appears the rollout is nation-wide. We’ve recently tested the service on WIND Mobile and have confirmed it, too, has enabled SMS short codes.
