chpwn is one of the most prolific jailbreak coders out there: if you’ve ever jailbroken an iPhone or iPad you’ve likely used one of his many Cydia apps. His latest mod, Zephyr, brings a bit of the Nokia N9 magic to the popular Apple device by allowing you to use bezel-to-screen gestures to enable certain functions.
At the moment there are only two gestures supported: swipe up from the bottom of the screen to show the multitasking menu; or, more useful. swiping in from either side of the screen to cycle between open apps. Though the iPad has this feature natively included in the OS, Apple didn’t feel it was suitable for small devices like the iPhone (or, at least, not yet) so chpwn has filled in the gap for us.
He claims that the mod will get better over time, with more gestures and an increased amount of granularity. Zephyr is available for $2.99 from the Bigboss repository in the Cydia app store for the iPhone.
