Today Asus introduced a companion tablet to the existing TF201 Transformer Prime that has a 1920×1200 pixel display and a slightly newer design.
The tablet, with a code name of TF700T, is designed a little cleaner than the original, but eschews the metallic back that has made the lower-resolution Prime so desirable. It has a transparent strip to provide better connectivity after the first Transformer Prime experienced WiFi and GPS issues after launch.
It will ship with Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich, though there is no specific release date just yet. It will retail for $599, well above the $499 price of the 32GB TF201. We don’t know what sizes the tablet will come in, but we’d imagine the $599 will fetch you the 32GB version.
We’ll be getting a hands-on later in the week. One more photo after the break.
