Earlier this week a leaked Sony roadmap gave some insight into their upcoming Smartphone lineup – this showed the recently announced Xperia S, plus the already leaked Nypon, Pepper, ST21i Tapioca and Kumquat. New names such as the Hayabusa and Mint were on the list, based on the the price points these are rumoured to be their new high-end devices.
A new image of a Sony device has surfaced online and is apparently the first look at the ST25i Kumquat. This seems to follow the same design philosophy as the Xperia S and Xperia Ion with the transparent notification strip. In addition, this pic shows similar traits to the Sony Ericsson marketed the Xperia arc and its little brother the Xperia ray – same general design, but scaled down specs. The Kumquat is rumoured to come with a 3.5-inch display with a resolution of 480 x 854, 1GHz dual-core processor and 5MP camera that records 720p HD videos.
No official word on when or where this will be released, but we’ll surely hear more at Mobile World Congress in a month.
