Sony’s Tablet S is a great little tablet despite running last year’s hardware. Out of all the Honeycomb tablets released last year, I like Sony’s interface the best.
Now they are readying the release of Android 4.0.3 for the tab, and it will come with a few interesting features yet unseen on Ice Cream Sandwich. In addition to all the standard speed increases, UI improvements and general “betterness,” the company is adding lock screen camera access, photo editing and panorama options for photography enthusiasts.
They’ve also added what could just be a poorly-translated phrase, “Small Apps,” which resemble the little mini widgets available at any time, from any application. Examples include a mini browser, calculator and remote control for your Bravia television.
Because the Tablet S is not bound to any carrier modifications, the April rollout should apply to everyone. We’ll let you know as soon as it starts in Canada.
