If you wander is some TELUS locations you’ll see a dedicated section that gives credence to their Android focus, specifically Samsung’s Galaxy lineup. In Laval, Québec TELUS has opened up the first of their “Next Generation” store. TELUS notes that the new design has “one clear mission”… actually there’s two listed in the press release: “to bring the TELUS suite of products to life in-store and to better inform, empower and assist customers in choosing the technology that best meets their communications needs.”
The store looks über modern and is outfitted with devices (tablets and smartphones) that actually can be used, not just dummy devices. This allows customers, with assistance from TELUS’ staff, “to see how it really works.” In addition, there’s also “in-store learning centres” that offer customers one-on-one or group tutorials, plus interactive monitors that give insight into TELUS’ network.
To celebrate this redesigned location TELUS will be giving back to the community. Until May 6th they’ve decided to donate $7.50 to Opération Enfant Soleil for each set of TELUS critters they sell (from the TELUS Laval Next Generation store). Customers who visit the new store are also invited to support the community.
Finally, we’ve been informed that TELUS plans on opening up approximately 20 Next Generation locations by the end of 2013.
