Samsung has recently filed a bunch of trademark applications for various smartphone names. Over the past few months we’ve seen the Joy, Fresh, then a slew of Galaxy devices: Axiom, Awaken, Heir, Rite, Emerge, Stellar, Halo, Grand, Premier and Next. So Samsung has lots of ideas, or possibly just protecting themselves against patent trolls.
Three more names can be added to the list, Galaxy Metrix (patent application number 85597928), Galaxy Velvet (patent application number 85597925), and the Galaxy Legend (patent application number 85597919). All were submitted under “goods and services” for Mobile telephones; Smartphones. No indication of if these names will come to market, or where these device names fall into Samsung’s naming categories.
For now, we just wait for the Galaxy S III to officially be unveiled.
