Foursquare for BlackBerry users are getting a nice little bump today with the release of version 3.9. A couple long-awaited features are hitting the app, which is consistently kept updated on all its supported platforms.
In this release, Foursquare has done what Twitter and Facebook did a while back and integrated its direct message system into the BlackBerry inbox, allowing you to see who’s pinged you without having to enter the app.
And users of BlackBerry 7.1-powered NFC-capable devices such as the Bold 9900 and Curve 9360 can use NFC to check into places with the appropriate tags. While still a relatively niche feature, more locations are putting up NFC tags to take advantage of quick-touch checkins, and we hope to see more of them in the future.
