TELUS announced a $7 million infusion to “expand and enhance its state-of-the-art 4G wireless network” in Manitoba this year. Currently TELUS only offers coverage in the Winnipeg area and the press release doesn’t say where they’ll expand or enhance too… probably staying put in Winnipeg. What is known is that LTE is not on the plan for this year, but customers do have access to their dual-carrier HSPA+ network – this offers up peak download speeds of up to 42 Mbps.
In addition to this love that TELUS is showing the province, TELUS has also committed to donating up to $160,000 to the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation. For every new smartphone that gets purchased in Winnipeg they’ll give $25 to help fund paediatric oncology clinical trials. TELUS just keeps on giving.
