Samsung has announced the Galaxy Chat, a low-cost QWERTY candybar handset with Ice Cream Sandwich. The device will likely never make it to Canada, but we can hold out hope for our low-cost smartphone fans.
The device comes with a 3-inch QVGA display (320 x 240) and a 2MP camera around back, but the real star here is that it comes with Android 4.0 out of the box. The device is reasonably compact, as it’s meant to be a quick, cheap messaging phone, at 118.9 x 59.3 x 117mm and it weighs 112g. Other notable features include 4GB internal storage and a microSD slot for expandable storage, WiFi (b/g/n) and Bluetooth 3.0.
The Galaxy Chat should be available in Europe, South America, Africa and Asia in the coming months.
