The trial between Apple and Samsung is bringing out more than just old iPhone and iPad prototypes, but new “iconic” handsets. Listed in the court documents are a couple new Samsung Windows Phone 8 devices: Odyssey and Marco.
Both devices are scheduled to be launching in Q4 2012, have dual-core 1.5Ghz Qualcomm MSM8960 processors and LTE connectivity – so possibly Rogers, Bell and TELUS will release it. As for specs the Odyssey is being dubbed as the “iconic smartphone” and packs a 4.65-inch Super AMOLED display (HD resolution), 8MP camera, 2MP front-facing camera and NFC capabilities. The Marco has reduced specs, but will come with a 4-inch S-AMOLED display (WVGA resolution), 5MP camera and a 2MP front-facing camera, no NFC.
No details on specific Q4 launch dates, but most likely it’ll be around the October/November timeframe.
