Pinterest have released an Android and iPad app today, plus updated their iPhone app. In a blog post they stated “It may sound funny, but our goal has never been to keep you online. Instead, we want to inspire you to go offline and do things that you love.” With that said, the masses can now register an account and start pinning things of interest.
iOS gets bumped up to version 2.0 and brings iPhone users a new 2-column layout. iPad users “may have the best Pinterest experience yet” as it includes an embedded browser that makes it easier to discover and share pins. Pinterest made a “custom-designed Android app,” currently at version 1.0.0, that is compatible with devices that run OS 2.2 or higher. This “app works well on Android phones and tablets, regardless of your device’s cost, speed or screen size.”
