Samsung has officially taken the wraps off what in retrospect will be remembered as one of the worst-kept secrets in the industry.
The Galaxy S4 Mini (capital M, at least that’s clearer now) will sport a 4.3-inch 960×540 pixel Super AMOLED display, a 1.7Ghz dual-core processor (likely a Snapdragon 400), 1.5GB of RAM, 8GB internal storage (expandable), an 8MP rear camera and 1.9MP front-facing camera, LTE support and a removable 1900mAh battery.
At 107 grams, it’s also one of the lightest mid-range devices on the market, and it boasts Android 4.2.2 with TouchWIZ, along with many of the features found on the Galaxy S4 itself. There’s Samsung Apps, S Health, WatchON, Story Album, and many of the same camera effects like Sound&Shot.
While Samsung hasn’t divulged exactly when the S4 Mini will go on sale, nor where exactly it will be available, UK retailer Phones 4u has revealed it will be available some time in July. Whether it comes to Canada is likely up to the carriers, but we’ll have to wait until July to find out.
