LG has quietly announced the LG G Pad tonight. It looks really nice and takes a similar design strategy to the LG G2.
As expected, LG’s rebirth into the tablet space brings an 8.3-inch Android-powered Jelly Bean 4.2.2 to the masses. This is part of its growing ‘premium’ device lineup, which LG notes is the first tablet to have a “Full HD display on an 8-inch class tablet, a unique user-experience and wide range of connectivity features.”
As for what those specific connected features are, well LG will be making the ‘unique QPair app’ available to all and gives users the option of making “every call and message received on a smartphone appear on the G Pad for a true convergence experience. Users can then send simple replies through the LG G Pad 8.3.” There’s other unique features built into the G Pad, specifically “Slide Aside” (seamless multitasking), “QSlide” (three different apps in one window), and “KnockON” (turns the device on and off by tapping the display twice).
