Coming off several rumours of Apple launching a larger sized iPhone with a 4.8-inch display is a new report from the Wall Street Journal. According to their “people familiar with the situation,” Apple is planning to unveil an “iPhone model with a screen larger than 4.5 inches measured diagonally, and a second version with a display bigger than 5 inches.” Yes, two of them.
The design is expected to stay the same as the current iPhone 5s with its “metal casings” and will launch sometime in the second half of the year — probably around the September/October period. Of course, Apple declined to comment on the rumour and the WSJ stated that “Apple’s plans weren’t final and that the company could change course.”
The more staggering news from the report is that Apple, according to the WSJ sources, will “scrap” the plastic iPhone 5C that was released late last year. No reason was given, but low demand is the likely cause.
