CyanogenMOD 11S will power the OnePlus One

The OnePlus One is turning into a hot little commodity. The first smartphone from former Oppo employees is set to debut on April 23rd, and is promising a lot of smartphone for not a lot of money.

The company is set to roll out the LTE-capable device unlocked across the world, and though we haven’t yet seen what it will look like, we know quite a few of its specs:

  • Customized version of CyanogenMod running Android 4.4.2
  • Sub $400 price tag
  • 5.5″ 1080p display
  • 3100mAh battery
  • 13MP Sony Exmor camera
  • Snapdragon 801 CPU
  • Voice wakeup capabilities
  • Global LTE
  • 16/64GB versions

Now, thanks to a leak from Engadget, we know what the lock screen will look like. The OnePlus One will run a custom version of CyanogenMOD 11 called CM11S, with custom features like voice wakeup and some UI and camera tweaks that move the device beyond a mere custom ROM experience.

We’re hoping for great things from the company — Oppo itself just revealed the excellent-looking Find 7 — but we’ll have to wait until the end of April for our impressions.
