Tim Hortons has been pilot testing a barcode scan-to-pay option within their TimmyMe app for the past number of months. This gives eager coffee and donut addicts the option of quickly paying for an order via their mobile device with a registered Tim Card.
The pilot phase is now over and Timmies announced that this payment option is now available at all restaurants across Canada and the United States (3,610 in Canada, 870 in the United States).
The TimmyMe app also gives users the option to find the closest Tim Hortons, get nutritional information and even place an order ahead of time. The app is compatible with iOS (includes Passbook support), Android and BlackBerry 10 devices. In addition, Tim Hortons also has the tap-and-go feature available for those with an NFC-enabled device.
