The Wall Street Journal report suggesting that Google was expanding Project Tango to include tablets has proven true, as today Google’s ATAP team announced its Project Tango Tablet Development Kit.
The ‘Kit’ in question is a 7” tablet featuring a Tegra K1 mobile processor, 4GB of RAM, and a multitude of cameras and sensors “designed for computer vision and 3D sensing.” The development kit will cost $1024 USD when it goes on sale later this year, and will be available only in limited quantities, so those interested in getting one should sign up on ATAP’s Project Tango page.
You can watch a brief sizzle reel for the Project Tango tablet after the jump.
