The BlackBerry Bold 9900 was truly an iconic BlackBerry smartphone when it was officially released back in 2011. This came with the classic BlackBerry QWERTY keyboard and a premium design with the chrome accents. Since its launch, BlackBerry has shed OS 7 in favour of BlackBerry 10 and released several new smartphones.
However, to give its customers what they want, CEO John Chen recently declared that BlackBerry restart production on the Bold 9900. Pre-orders went live a few weeks ago for a whopping $430 (CDN), but now the day has arrived and the 9900 is once again for sale. The specs, yes, they are the same. The Bold 9900 runs BlackBerry 7 OS, has a 2.8-inch display, 5MP camera that captures 720p videos, and packs in a tight battery life that lasts 6.3 hours.
While purchasing the Bold 9900 through the ShopBlackBerry store offers up an unlocked version, many new and unlocked 9900’s can be purchased through eBay for $200.
