Google continues its push to release standalone versions of core Android functionality. This week, the company released a standalone version of Email to the Play Store, which features a few bug fixes, additional security for Gmail accounts, and improved account setup. With Google Now, Google Keyboard, and Google Camera already available, it seems as though Google has few standalone Android apps left to release.
Unfortunately, device availability for Email is currently limited beyond recent Nexus devices, and the app is not showing for some in the Play Store. Thankfully, Android Police has a hosted version of the Google-signed APK, which can be found at the source link below.
