Many tech manufacturers are launching smartwatches or fitness bands with sensors that capture important data about our health. Samsung, Google, Motorola, LG and Apple all want a piece of the next big thing and you’re in the middle of it all.
Pebble, which was created by Canadian Eric Migicovsky, has announced a partnership with Misfit, the makers of the Shine activity tracker, that turns your Pebble smartwatch into a pedometer and fitness tracker. The app is available for free in in the Pebble appstore and gives users the ability to count calories, record distance traveled, and set daily activity goals.
Perhaps there is a deeper relationship brewing between these companies as Pebble noted on its blog that “this is the first milestone in an ongoing partnership and collaboration between Pebble and Misfit that aims to provide intuitive health and fitness tracking for all.”
Google and its Android Wear partners are set to unveil a bevy of smartwatches at Google I/O tomorrow, which are also rumoured to have the ability to track your health and fitness objectives.
