Official Android Wear app now available to download from Google Play

Samsung, LG and Motorola recently unveiled their respective Android Wear smartwatches. The Gear Live and G Watch are already available on Google Play, while the Moto 360 will be hitting shelves later this summer.

If you’ve decided to pre-order any of these wearables, you’ll need to download the official Android Wear app from Google. As stated before, Android Wear is compatible with smartphones running Android 4.3 or higher and this app will help you easily set-up your new smartwatch. Google states in the official description that “The Android Wear app is the link to Android wearables. Control voice action preferences, adjust notification settings, and configure devices.”

In the meantime of your new smartwatch arriving on your wrist, download the app from Google Play. In addition, Google has also created a dedicated section with a number (21 to be exact) of Android Wear-specific apps. Reputable developers have already configured their apps to work on either displays, such as Pinterest, Banjo, Duolingo, and IFTTT.
