It appears as though Apple is testing App Store labels for its upcoming Family Sharing feature ahead of the iOS 8 launch. Family Sharing allows up to six to share iTunes, iBooks and App Store purchases without sharing accounts, as well as permission controls for children to make in-app purchases. iOS developers can opt-out of Family Sharing, however, which would then force family members to make separate purchases of the same app rather than one over-arching purchase.
9to5Mac, by way of some friends oversees, spotted the labels in both the web and desktop versions of the App Store, but so far nothing has appeared on mobile. It’s unlikely that the labels will stay up for long if they’re even still up at all, but it’s another sure sign that iOS 8 is close.
