RBC Wallet app now compatible with 12 Android devices, coming to BlackBerry ‘mid-September’

Bell, Virgin and RBC launched their mobile payment service, RBC Wallet, back in January, which allows cardholders to make small-ticket payments (debit or credit) from a mobile device.

While the service was limited to only Galaxy S3 and Samsung Galaxy S4 owners at launch, it gradually expanded to be available on other devices, including the LG G2, Sony Xperia Z1, HTC One (M7) and the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. The app has been updated to version 2.2 and brings compatibility with additional devices, as well as the ability to send Interac e-Transfers via Facebook Messenger.

Google Play shows the RBC Mobile app has been downloaded between 500,000 – 1,000,000 times, but no word on how many of those are active users of the service. Here’s the complete list of compatible devices:

  • Samsung Galaxy S III running at least Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
  • Samsung Galaxy S4 running at least Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
  • Samsung Galaxy S5 running at least Android 4.4 KitKat.
  • Samsung Galaxy Note II running at least Android 4.3 Jelly Bean or lower.
  • Samsung Galaxy Note 3 running at least Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
