Today, Sony unveiled the Xperia Z3 at IFA in Berlin. As expected, the device is almost exactly the same as the previous Xperia Z2 flagship from last year.
Sony brings the LTE-enabled Xperia Z3 to the world with a premium materials like aluminum and glass. It sports a 5.2-inch display with a 1920 x 1080 resolution, which translates to a pixel density of 424ppi. Inside is a 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 chipset with Adreno 330 graphics, 3GB of RAM, 16 GB of onboard storage, and support for up to 128 GB of external storage via MicroSD.
The Z3 also packs a 20.7MP camera with autofocus, LED flash, 1080p video capture, and a new 25mm wide-angle Sony G Lens. The front-facing camera boasts a 2.2MP sensor and is also capable of shooting 1080p video but at 30 frames per second. In addition, the Z3 is also waterproof and “dust-tight.”
Overall dimensions are 5.75 x 2.83 x 0.29 inches with a weight of 152 grams. The Z3 is expected to available sometime this fall in white, black, copper or silver green, and it will be coming to Canada, though carrier specifics are not currently known.
