Continuity is one of the best features introduced by Apple in recent memory, allowing Mac and iOS users to share information between devices in a variety of interesting ways. Today at its developer conference, Samsung announced Flow, a similar feature that will allow Android users to connect and share between Samsung devices.
While similar to Continuity in principle, Samsung appears to be adding new wrinkles to Flow. For example, in addition to call notifications, Flow can share low battery warnings across devices. Task reminders can also bet set to trigger when the user has a specified device in hand.
Samsung will also releasing an SDK for developers to integrate Flow into their apps. It will be interesting to see if Android developers will take advantage of Flow’s advanced connectivity features despite only working between Samsung devices.
