The Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) and BAI Canada announced that riders can now access free WiFi in all stations in the lower loop of Line 1. The WiFi connectivity, which is branded TCONNECT, is now live in four additional station platforms, including Union, King, Queen and Dundas.

The other stations that already have WiFi are St. George, Bay, Bloor, Wellesley and College. The TTC and BAI noted the goal is to continue to expand WiFi installations and bring service to Spadina and all the lower loop of Line 1 before the Toronto 2015 Pan Am Games.

We previously reported that WiFi is estimated to go live in the stations below on the following dates:

– Spadina: December 2014
– St Andrew: January 2015
– Osgoode: January 2015
– St Patrick: February 2015
– Queen’s Park: February 2015
– Museum: March 2015

In its release, the TTC stated, “Each station with TCONNECT Wi-Fi is cellular-capable, ready for cellular service providers to join the network.” Unfortunately, no indication of when cellular service will be available as the carriers and BAI have yet to agree on terms.
