This morning at CES, wearable manufacturer Misfit and cut crystal producer Swarovski jointly announced a new line of solar-powered wearables. The collection, called Swarovski Shine, includes two wearables and nine accessories jointly designed by Swarovski and Misfit.
The Shine wearables are an interesting combination of both partners’ core competencies. The Shine devices feature Misfit’s activity and sleep tracking technology, tracking steps, distance, calories burned, and of course, sleep quality and duration. The violet Swarovski Shine also features large faceted crystals, which allow it to be charged through exposure to the sun. Swarovski and Misfit claim it is the first activity tracker to use “energy harvesting technology” to eliminate the need for replaceable batteries or external chargers.
The Swarovski Shine collection is currently available now for pre-order in the U.S. from misfit.com, and will be on sale this spring in Swarovski retail locations in the U.S., Hong Kong, and China. No word yet on Canadian availability.
