Jolla launches Indiegogo campaign for 64GB Sailfish tablet

Back in November, Finland-based Jolla launched an Indieogo fund for a new device that it called “the first people-powered tablet.” Running Sailfish 2.0, this tablet packed a 7.85-inch (2048 x 1536) display and a 64-bit quad-core CPU from Intel, 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. Jolla reached their funding goal in just a couple of hours, and shipping to Canada was confirmed after the campaign raised over a million dollars.

Fast forward a couple of months and Jolla’s tablet is back on Indiegogo, this time with 64GB of storage. The original campaign now includes a $25 perk for backers of the original 32GB model. This will allow those that backed the project in December to “upgrade” their early bird model to the 64GB version.

There’s also a $449 combo that includes both the Jolla phone and the Jolla tablet. Just like the 32GB model, the 64GB Sailfish tablet will be shipping to Canada, though the combo that combines the phone and tablet won’t be available outside the EU, Norway and Switzerland.

The Indiegogo campaign will be open until the end of February. In addition to the 64GB perk, to celebrate reaching its $1.5 million stretch goal, Jolla is enabled support for microSD (up to 128GB) and upping the battery capacity from 4300mAh to 4450mAh.
