Virgin Mobile wants to “protect gullible and prank-prone Canadians” this April Fool’s Day

April Fools’ Day is just around the corner and some classic pranks never die: the Salty Surprise, Tricky Coin or the Toilet Surprise. To help ensure everyone’s safety, Virgin Mobile has decided to “protect gullible and prank-prone Canadians” by releasing a public service announcement. The company hopes this will help its customers avoid falling victim to the various acts of unkindness. It’s all in the name of promoting “prank prevention,” says the company.

Virgin created two checklists to follow — one for home and the other for the office. The list suggests to not leave any anything unattended, to check the toilet seat for cling wrap, and to wear protective equipment, such as bubble wrap or a Snuggie.

Previous years of April Fools’ Day tomfoolery by Virgin Mobile have been better — namely the Safe Text Zones and the SmartKicks wearable — but Joseph Ottorino, the company’s managing director, says, “think of us like that little voice in the back of your head reminding you to check your chair, keep away from unattended food and avoid any doorway!”
